#9 Classmate Blog Critique

Every year, it seems that everyone does a good job on their blogs. Especially with the hectic last half of this year thanks to COVID-19, it is impressive with the quality work my classmates have come up with. The material is always interesting, current, and informative. I enjoy everyone presenting their material and seeing everyone's personalities and styles reflected in their work. I also enjoy the variety of content that one topic can produce. This to be shows the creativity of everyone involved. I love seeing what my classmates come up with, and all the different directions one general topic can go.

For this blog, I chose to look at a few classmates that brought unique flare and perspective to their blogs.

Liberty Henderson

I always enjoy looking at Liberty's blog. You really feel her style and personality shine in her work. The formatting is flashy and inviting, and her style is trendy and fun. The time she puts into making her blog unique and personalized is evident.

I found her blog on Global Trends to be my favorite of hers. It was interesting me to see how the style of the 90s seems to be coming back around. However, what was more interesting was her analysis on the subject. She was able to draw deductions based on her knowledge of fashion to make conclusions I never would have thought of. As much as I enjoyed to the throwback to the 90s, I also feel that this particular blog fit the whole vibe that she has going. You can tell that this was a topic she was well-versed on and enjoyed which in turn made this an easy enjoyable read for the audience.

Kristie Glass

Kristie's blog was very professional looking, and I aspire to have that level of aesthetics to my blogs!  She did an excellent job formatting this to look clean and appealing. I also want to take time to compliment her writing voice. It has a "journalist feel" where it is informative but also readable. I felt I was reading articles published by a well-known journalist.

She also had great topic choices. They were always current and relevant to events happening. I particularly found her blog on predictions to be intriguing. Talk of the virus is pretty common place now, but I liked how she took the knowledge and went in a different direction. I liked how she pulled current events and made predictions of her based off that. I think that shows  qualities of an exceptional media analyst.

Colby Clinton

When I look at Colby's blog, I feel I am looking at an online newspaper. It has the same feel of one, and as a future media analyst, I like how he pulled that off with his own blog. What I also enjoy about his blogs is the perspective he brings. His interests are in different areas in mine (whether it be sports or video games), so by reading his blog, I am able to become more informed in areas where I would have been ignorant before. I never think to do my blogs on those topics because they never cross my mind; that's not where my interest lie. But I do enjoy learning about those topics and becoming more informed, and that's why I like reading his blogs.

This is my favorite of his blogs was #8 Predictions. He had a specific section on predictions in video games that I enjoyed reading. I liked how he felt the direction of video games was going to go, and the video was a nice touch also.
